Maritime service

The maritime division of Matras can propose coverage of all import, export and cross-trade international routes for full loads (FCL) and Groupage (LCL).
Thanks to the large volume of controlled traffic, Matras has the possibility to propose extremely competitive tariffs negotiating contracts directly with the major shipping companies thus ensuring the availability of space and equipment.
A diffused network of foreign agents allows the shipment management on a door-to-door base, including intermediate activities on the transported goods, always under the strict control of the operational departments.

Services are mainly aimed at the management of general cargo, dangerous goods (IMO classification chemical products, clothing and hanging garments.

For the protection of the goods transported, Matras can offer insurance coverage ''All Risks” on behalf of its customers thanks to the collaboration with major insurance companies and brokers.

Land service

The offer of Matras services is extended to land services for full loads (FTL) and partial (LTL) on all routes National, European and extra European , inluding the transport of food liquids in tankers and ADR (dangerous goods.)

This activity is carried out also to support the Project Cargo service for exceptional transport management and out of gauge load systems, that require the use of special vehicles with particular attention to the production of the necessary transit permits and coordination of escort vehicles and technical assistance on road viability.

Air service

 IATA regulated agent, able to offer boarding from and to every Airport of the Globe.

MATRAS has been taking advantage for over 20 years of a capillary network of agents present in every continent that garantee success with the shipping operations from and to every angle of the Globe .

Particularly in China , Matras cooperates with agents that can supply apart from the normal assistance upon boarding also a series of services related to logistics and warehousing for goods at the boarding/landing that have been requested by the Italian clientele that in recent years have chosen to estabilish in loco , production facilities to support the distribution of their own brand in Italy and other foreign countries. Therefore Matras can be considered the ideal partner for the so called "cross-trade" shipments.

Also Matras adheres to the network IFLN network since it began in 2000 , that includes 235 logistic operators in 92 different countries. IFLN other than normal shipments is also able to manage “Project Cargo” and “HeavyLift “from and for any destination.

Logistics

Matras offers to its own clients logistic services integrated with shipping activities
making use of a warehouse of 20,000 sqm authorized as bonded warehouse and for the completion of customs formalities under the VAT suspension regime.

The warehouse has indoor bonded area duly equipped for palletized cargoes storage and outdoor area for FCL container storage.

Project Cargo Division

The Project Cargo Division is made up of professionals that are experts in logistics management of industrial plants, out of gauge loads, high-value products.
Each project is entrusted to a highly specialized team that takes charge to organize and carry out the complex phases of the transport by supplying extra necessary services or those specifically requested by the customer (vessel or aircraft chartering, lifting , packaging, warehousing, storage, guardianship , insurance).

The dedicated team is made up of a sales representative and operationals to handle the shipping and documentary activities in coordination with the customer for an optimal shipment management.

The service is addressed to the main areas of plant engineering, with particular attention to the mechanical industry and counts between its own customers the main Italian Industrial groups and numerous foreign customers.

Training

The company has always scrupulously taken care of the preparation of its staff through specific internal training courses aimed to the acquisition of in-depth knowledge of the shipping process. In line with this philosophy, the know how acquired is made available to its own customers through thematic courses of external training focused on specific aspects such as:

  • The insurance aspects of shipments

It is also possible to arrange 'ad hoc' courses upon customer's request.
